The 22nd Annual William Slaughter/Levine Golf Tournament, Benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County

March 28, 2008

The 22nd Annual William Slaughter/Levine Golf Tournament, benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County was a swinging success! The event took place at the Woodlands Country Club in Tamarac on March 28th and featured a shotgun start, buffet lunch, on-course refreshments and silent and live auction. The tournament was a sell-out event, raising more than $235,000.00 for the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County.

Miss Miami Gardens 2008 Scholarship Pageant

Miss Miami Gardens 2008 Scholarship Pageant was held on March 23rd at Florida Memorial University in Miami. The annual event promotes higher educational goals by awarding a partial scholarship to the winner. Contestants competed in several categories including talent and civic involvement. Additionally, the winner will go on to compete in the Miss Florida Pageant. Miami Gardens is the new home of UAIC's headquarters.

The 3rd Annual Jazz in the Gardens at Dolphin Stadium

March 16, 2008

Miami Gardens' signature music event, took place at Dolphin Stadium on March 15-16.  The event, co-sponsored by UAIG, featured both contemporary artists such as Kem and Wyclef Jean, as well as some classic performers such as Nancy Wilson and the O'Jays.  The event spanned over two days and included food, shopping and entertainment.

Florida Children's First (FCF)

For the second consecutive year, United Auto is the statewide sponsor for Florida Children's First (FCF), a non-profit organization that represents the interests of Florida's foster children. Grand Ghoul Night Featuring Former Miami Dolphin Football Star OJ MacDuffe, was hosted by UAIG and benefited The Boys and Girls Club of Broward County. The annual event was held at the Fort Lauderdale Signature Grand and featured music, food and entertainment. The event hosted more than 1000 guests and raised $100,000. The event benefited the Boys and Girls YET Center of Fort Lauderdale.

2007 Party with a Purpose Benefits Vision-Based Organizations

The 2007 Party with a Purpose, benefiting HeartSight Miami, Hope for Vision and The Foundation for Fighting Blindness, was held at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood. United Automobile Insurance Group was the title sponsor, underwriting most of the costs of the star-studded event. Richard Parillo Sr. was an honoree of the event. Party with a Purpose raised more than $700,000. Carlos and Betsy Lidskey co-chaired the event.

Do The Right Thing

DTRT works with the Miami Police Department to reward local children for positive behavior, accomplishments and actions in the community.

Each year United Auto exhibits at Calle Ocho, which is the party that marks the culmination of Carnaval Miami. More than a million people line the streets of Little Havana for the largest Hispanic celebration in the country.

St. Jude Shoot Out Charity Golf Tournament

February 16, 2007

United Auto sponsored the 2007 St. Jude Shoot Out charity golf tournament, dinner and auction at the Woodlands Country Club in Tamarac. The event, hosted by Bo Jackson and United Auto executive vice president Beau Parrillo, raised a record $500,000 in support of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and its fight against cancer and other diseases. Mr. Parrillo announced that the company will double its signature sponsorship to $100,000 next year and offer St. Jude patients access to the United Auto Insurance Group aircraft for transportation to the hospital in Memphis.

Presidents' Fest in the Park

February, 2007

United Auto hosted more than 1,500 children from JAFCO, ChildNet, Boys & Girls Club, and Kids In Distress to enjoy the 2007 Presidents' Fest in the Park. For 15 years, Presidents' Fest has been a community celebration that thousands of South Florida residents enjoy. This is the second consecutive year that United Auto has sponsored this event.

Miami Children's Hospital Holiday Party

December 1, 2006

United Auto spread holiday cheer at Miami Children's Hospital with a party for sickle cell anemia patients. United Auto employees collected hundreds of presents through a gift drive and distributed the gifts to many smiling faces at the party.

Miami Children's Hospital - Child Safety Seat Check Station

May, 2006

United Automobile Insurance Group teamed up with Miami Children's Hospital to provide one of the only indoor Child Safety Seat Check stations in the country. The program, which operates year round, teaches parents how to choose the right child seat, how to install the seat and how to position the child properly. United Auto covers most of the program's costs, including equipment and staffing. The company has also donated hundreds of safety seats to local parents.

Nearly 200 local students participated in ASPIRA of Florida's Career and College Expo in South Florida. United Automobile Insurance Group co-hosted the "Keys to Catching your Dreams" career fair for two consecutive years in an effort to encourage students to pursue and achieve their dreams.
